Good Stuff
My awesome, like-minded friend, Dayna has such a way with words....I love it! Have to share:

Frustration
My son has been asking to watch Food, Inc....again. I have to admit that I've been avoiding it and living in my "ignorance is bliss" mode. But I'm not ignorant which makes "food" shopping a very frustrating experience. Anyone remember the beginning of the "Mary Tyler Moore Show" when she's shopping and kind of indecisively/half-heartedly tosses the item into her cart? That's how I feel with nearly every purchase I make...especially if it comes in a box. I feel okay with organic fruits and veggies but the price kind of takes the fun out of the good feeling.
So, we watched it again last night...and I had to go grocery shopping today. I kind of did it on autopilot. I'd probably give myself a C for my purchases...which is probably generous by some standards.
*the unhappy purchase is at about the 24 second mark

Election Day!
I try not to like politics too much but my natural competitiveness keeps me from not taking sides...and then passionately supporting that side! My faith is not in these candidates but in God alone BUT....I simply like to win! And yesterday was a big time WIN for the conservatives of our state.
Unfortunately, my personal friend did not win her bid for the PA House. I took the children to the polls, however, to pass out literature for her. It's a good education. I never understood politics at their ages the way they do. And it was fun.

Where has the time gone?
My son is seven years old. How did that happen? I was just pregnant with him, wasn't I?
Here he is on his birthday with his most awesome birthday gift:
a 1981 Honda Z-something-or-other 50cc dirt/trail bike.
He loves it.
So do I. Really.
You might think I have some ER visits in my future but he's my cautious one.
Ride free, buddy!

Such an excellent article about Halloween. I wish more Christians agreed...
